I recently saw the following posted on a blog and thought it was the perfect description of what summer is like in Germany:
So I was very happy to arrive in the U.S., in Destin, FL, of all places, and enjoy summer in all of it's splendor. We started our second morning - a very early morning at 5a.m. due to jet lag - on the beach. As he tends to do with most things, K got his bearings before starting to play... He had to check out this ocean thing.
Daddy offered to show him around.
He loved feeling the waves wash up against his feet.
The water was unbelievable calm, so the boys ventured out.
They sat down and soaked.
Next on the agenda was playing in the sand.
With a giant shovel!
Daddy, a playing-in-the-sand expert, showed K the ropes.
Then they headed back in the water and let K's blue boat ride the tiny waves.
This was one of K's favorite activities...
Mommy took a break from snapping photos to relax with K.
By the time we were done playing it was...9a.m. Not a bad three hours on the beach - no one needed sunscreen, it wasn't too hot and we had the whole place to ourselves! Very relaxing. Perfect beginning to a very fun vacation. And probably the most photos I took the whole trip.
