Winter Afternoon at Philbrook

As we wrap up our stay here in Tulsa, I thought it would be fun to do a few posts commemorating our time here.  When Matt's mom Karen/Grammy was here over Christmas, we decided to pay a visit to the Philbrook Museum of Art.  Philbrook is a beautiful mansion turned art museum located in midtown Tulsa.  I remember running around this place as a little girl - the majestic rooms, colossal gardens - imagining what it must have been like to live there.
This pic is from the blog "Historic Tulsa", looking back at the house from a gazebo at the edge of the garden.
The other three photos are pics I took during our visit.
When we visited, Kellan wasn't quite old enough to imagine what it would be like to like in such a massive, glamorous home, but he was old enough to enjoy trotting around the sprawling grounds.
He climbed countless stairs,

wove through the terraced gardens,
and ran as fast as his little feet could carry him
He played with Grammy
and with Daddy.
The wintry landscape was beautiful, with trees casting long, late afternoon shadows on straw-like grass,
pastel purple flowers that almost looked snow-kissed,
 and softly swishing ponds.
We played until the sun had almost set and then headed home.  Yet another gorgeous, memorable, fall-like day in the middle of winter in Tulsa.
